Asia’s longest-running investor conference will celebrate its 30th anniversary

Hong Kong – 14 August 2023: CITIC CLSA is pleased to announce that the 30th CITIC CLSA Investors’ Forum will be held at Rosewood Hong Kong from 11-14 September (Monday-Thursday). In celebrating its 30th anniversary, Asia’s longest-running investor conference will build on past successes with an exceptional lineup of high-profile speakers and award-winning CITIC CLSA analysts, who will offer new perspectives to over 1,000+ senior executives from 320+ leading companies and 1,800+ institutional investors from around the world.

The world will soon face a pivotal entry into the global bear market’s third and final stage. Economies driven by domestic demand are a potential shelter, and emerging markets are primed for outperformance. Megatrends such as AI and energy transition present tremendous growth value for battery materials, cloud computing and semiconductors. Now more than ever, investors must navigate new economic regimes and identify key opportunities for strong returns.

The four-day conference offers high-level discussions and debates on investors’ top concerns, ranging from economics, finance and international relations to society, technology and innovation. Beyond CITIC CLSA’s traditional strength of unpacking critical macro, geopolitical and strategic issues, the Forum will also address important sector trends and themes, including ChatGPT; the shifting semiconductor environment; healthcare innovation; and global real estate evolution amid rising rates.

Edward Park, Chief Executive Officer of Institutional Equities at CLSA, said: “We are excited to host the 30th CITIC CLSA Investors’ Forum in Hong Kong as the financial hub accelerates its post-Covid growth. The city’s role as a global financial centre and gateway to China is paramount as investors scrutinise the recovery of the world’s second-largest economy to uncover investment opportunities. The Forum will leverage our strong China expertise and CITIC Securities’ unrivalled domestic network and resources to present unmatched, on-the-ground insights.”

An exemplary lineup of distinguished thought leaders will share valuable insights on emerging markets, recession concerns, financial infrastructure and China’s rebalancing efforts. Speakers include Bjorn Lomborg, President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center; Michael Pettis, Professor of Finance at Peking University; Sebastian Basco, Director at NYSH Production; Stephen Shaw, Founder of Birthgap.org; Gerard Minack, Founder of Minack Advisors; Kathleen Tyson; Founder and CEO of Pacemaker.Global; and Pascal Gautheron, Partner at Bain & Company.

Shaun Cochran, Head of Research at CLSA, added: “As we face an extraordinary divergence between macroeconomic data and market action, investors must position themselves wisely in order to profit from the eventual resolution of this unprecedented disconnect. Our Forum offers an unparalleled opportunity to gather different perspectives through unrivalled access to some of the world’s best macro and thematic minds and Asia’s top business leaders.”
