Sustainability is a core component of our founding vision and CITIC CLSA Research is fully committed to delivering sustainability insights to investors through the incorporation of ESG factors into the investment decision-making process. We are the founding sponsor of Asia Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) and have continually published CG Watch for over 20 years, tracking key corporate Governance developments within Asian markets.

Trust provides financial and human capital to support communities within the markets in which CITIC CLSA operates.
As the overseas platform for CITIC Securities’ global philanthropy effort, the Trust funds charitable initiatives to make a positive and sustainable social impact and implement CITIC Securities’ global philanthropy strategy, with key objectives in education improvement and poverty alleviation. The Trust also reserves funds for emergency disaster response to reduce the impact of unforeseen events.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
CITIC CLSA employees are actively engaged in making a difference in their local communities.
Each year, our employees invest hundreds of hours volunteering in various initiatives. From Hong Kong to Mumbai; Sydney to New York, CITIC CLSA employees support underprivileged and disenfranchised children, youth, adults and the elderly.
We engage in activities ranging from distributing essential supplies to people experiencing homelessness, organizing career planning workshops for secondary school and university students, cooking food for the elderly, and cleaning up beaches.
CORPORATE INITIATIVES
Waste disposal
Wherever possible we segregate our waste and recycle newspapers, plastics and aluminium. These materials are collected from the office by authorised vendors who clean and separate them for recycling.
Plastics reduction
In most offices water filters have been installed to eliminate the use of plastic water dispensers. This is both healthier and reduces the potential waste of large plastic water bottles and the associated delivery costs. We provide reusable metal cutlery in the office pantry to minimize the use of disposable wooden and plastic cutlery.
Vendor Auditing
CITIC CLSA suppliers are required to complete an annual questionnaire to determine their environmental activities. We ascertain if they have an established Environmental Management System (EMS), if they are ISO certified, if they recycle their waste products, and if they document evidence of their environmental controls. This is conducted in all offices.
