CITIC CLSA Securities appoints Head of Syndicate – Leads 1H2016 Asia (ex-Japan) league tables

Hong Kong – Thursday, 28 July 2016 – CITIC CLSA Securities, Asia’s leader in global capital markets and corporate finance, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelvin Leung as Head of Syndicate in its capital market business.

Mr Leung brings to CITIC CLSA Securities extensive experience in structuring, execution and distribution across Asia (ex-Japan). Based in Hong Kong and reporting to Andrew Low, International Head of CITIC CLSA Securities, Mr Leung will be an integral member of the CITIC CLSA Securities leadership team and be responsible for syndication efforts across Asia, Australia and Europe.

Mr Leung joins from Credit Suisse where, over nine years, he managed more than 300 IPOs, block trades and follow-ons, raising over US$200 billion for the issuers. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr Leung was part of the ECM origination and syndicate team at ABN AMRO Rothschild.

In the 14 months since the launch of CITIC CLSA Securities, the firm has facilitated corporates in transactions and capital-raising to the value of US$25 billion in IPOs and placements, US$8.5 billion in DCM and over US$3 billion in M&A advisory. CITIC CLSA Securities has established itself at the top of the ECM, DCM and M&A Asia (ex-Japan) league tables. In first half of 2016 it has secured the largest market share for ECM issuances and the second largest market share in DCM. While total M&A deal values in the same period, place it third in the league tables. (Appendix 1)
