Earvin “Magic” Johnson to lead a stellar line-up of speakers Unrivalled corporate access with more than 420 companies presenting to investors
Hong Kong, 8 September 2020: The 27th CITIC CLSA Flagship Investors’ Forum (“Forum”), Asia’s longest-running investment conference, opens today. The Forum will gather more than 420 leading listed and private companies, and over 3,100 institutional investors from around the world in an entirely virtual setting. Extended to seven days, this year’s event will comprise more than 12,000 corporate access unique virtual interactions, across thousands of one-on-one and small-group meetings. Six days of back-to-back webinars will feature CLSA’s leading economists, strategists and analysts, high-profile thought leaders and personalities, as well as top management of leading companies from APAC and beyond.
This year’s content is divided into four key market-driving themes: China, Macro & Trade; Attention Economy; ESG; and, Leadership, Inspiration and Innovation. China access will be a key differentiator, leveraging CITIC Securities’ broad network of connections among corporates, government experts and industry specialists. More than 220 participating corporates come from mainland China and Hong Kong, including approximately 70 A-share listed companies.
Keynote speakers include NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who epitomises ‘Leadership, Inspiration and Innovation’. He will share the story of his remarkable rise and his philosophy for success. Steve Hansen, former head coach of the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team, will outline the skills and mindset required to achieve and sustain world-class performance.
A dominant feature of this year is the escalating US-China tensions. On the ‘China, Macro & Trade’ day, Academy Award winning American Factory directors Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar, and producer Yiqian Zhang, will discuss the making of the documentary, and the clashing of cultures in a factory environment.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor of the World Wide Web and CTO, Inrupt, will feature on the ‘Attention Economy’ day. He will explain his newly envisaged system, The Solid Project, in which internet users regain control of their data for a more decentralised and transparent experience.
High on the ESG agenda, the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, the 29th Prime Minister of Australia, and economist and Natty McArthur University Professor at Harvard University Rebecca Henderson, will explore how global economies can develop in a sustainable manner, at a time of unprecedented environmental and social upheaval.
