Rising labour costs continue to push manufacturers towards efficiency-enhancing technologies, and robots are increasingly finding their way into new industries. China is the only country in the world with an operating robot population exceeding 1m units.
Battle for share
The government is taking an active role in promoting the robotics industry, making sure that local players are competitive vis-a-vis global leaders. The fight for share is fierce, with 35% of our respondents expecting Chinese suppliers to take share from foreign rivals.
