Jensen Huang

17 February, 1963  |  Water Rabbit

Huang’s birth chart has a lot of wood in it, as does the Snake for this year. Considering the tech world is mostly associated with fire it all sounds very combustible, and one of Huang’s characteristics seems to be not taking his eye off any ball. While he is there at the helm it’s unlikely that Nvidia will have their Kodak moment. Rabbits usually have good Snake years, and he is well positioned to invest his considerable fortune, not only in the philanthropic projects he has donated to to-date, but also to up-and-coming enterprises in his own field – if you have a good tech idea this could be the year to get it under his nose. In 2027, his 10-year luck pattern will change and he may look to other aspects of his life – but for this year, he’ll keep on keeping on.

Yulia Navalnaya

24 July, 1976  |  Fire Dragon

Navalnaya became a public figure in the most unpleasant way, but she has stood fast and recently published her husband’s prison diaries. Her training was as an economist, but she has been involved in politics for several decades. Dragons usually have a year of consolidation in Snake years, but Navalnaya is well-placed this year for good economic returns, as long as she keeps tabs on expenditures, and for advancement at work. Her roles in Anti-Corruption and Human Rights organisations may well become more prominent, but she might also begin a more concerted attempt to encourage other opposition figures to work with her. Unsurprisingly, a small warning over legal issues; while many small frustrations might arise during her usual work, it seems the legal field is where the danger lies.

Liu Simu

19 April, 1989  |  Earth Snake

As befits a super-hero, and in a manner of life imitating art, Liu might get the opportunity this year to somehow avert a disaster. Unsurprisingly, for someone who has worked in stunts and still does much of the work himself, work accidents involving the shedding of blood are in the stars – but re-read that first sentence, it may be nothing more than a slight nick from a knife while paring an orange. Romance with someone outside his usual haunts is on the cards, so if you’re not in his world you may be by this time next year. Professionally, there is little he can’t do, and the financial opportunities and work progression in the charts make us think he’ll still be busy in several areas outside film. Much good to come from the year, but it’ll also come at the cost of considerable frustration and bickering – that super-hero teflon suit might need to be worn quite a lot.

Mukesh Ambani

19 April, 1957  |  Fire Rooster

With a strong metal birth chart, Ambani might be forgiven for thinking that this year he’s in a car travelling at speed the wrong way down a one-way street. It’s not his fault, the cosmos changed the traffic signs around and he was just driving to where he wanted to be. Roosters, though, are positioned for a good year and Ambani can look forward to much enjoyable socialising while his family reorganises itself. We’re not suggesting a direct change into politics, but we do see him using more of his money in philanthropic works that will not hurt his popularity. While his regular sources of income are stable, we also see the hidden hand of fate propelling him along; he may not quite yet be Midas, but much of what he touches this year should turn to gold.

Lawrence Wong

18 December, 1972  |  Water Rat

With a long history of ministerial work, and before that work within government bodies and the reigning political party, Wong’s rise to the top position has been steady and expected. His love of motorcycles and guitars may remind us that while he was born shortly after Easy Rider was released, we shouldn’t be misled; as sympathetic as he is, he’s also a political realist. His chart, not unlike Singapore, is surrounded by and inundated with water. Water Rats are often capable of the unexpected and different. Yet, for this first full year in office we think he’ll canvas colleagues and specialists widely, his own expertise is undoubted but he’ll not lord it over others. For those waiting for a sudden change to the direction of Singapore, this will not be the year.

Prabowo Subianto

17 October, 1951  |  Metal Rabbit

Prabowo has succeeded at so much in his careers in the military, business, and grass-roots and elite politics, that consideration of the hard work he’s done to get to this position may come as an after-thought. It shouldn’t, and despite being new to this position, the stars suggest he’ll make a fast start with his political programme. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Prabowo has made the most of it, combining his natural aptitude for strategy with a fondness for a modest family life. Rabbits fare well in Snake years, but he’ll need all his strategic marbles in place to deal with external political tensions. The stars suggest he’ll run into personnel issues this year, and will need to keep his emotions in check to get through, he may also face substantive health issues. A tricky year.
