The Zodiac

What sign are you?

And who shares it with you?

All snouts are in the mud this year, we’re afraid to say. With no shortage of quarrels and piggery, this is not the time to be hamming it up. But have a stout heart as you have no shortage of good masculine stars visiting you. Make the most of the opportunities that come your way as the Tai Sui will be in your neck of the woods next year, which will see you back in a poke.

Many small irritations this year . . . your tail gets caught in the gate, your trotters stick a little more than usual in the mud, and your gorgeously round snout wanders a little out of shape. The sooner you get yourself treated for these annoyances, the better. This is not the time to make a pig’s ear of your health. Take time out with the piglets or your favourite porcine half.

Snuffling truffles is all you need to do when times are good, but you’ll need to keep an eye on expenditure. Perhaps you may also forgive, but not forget, the unpaid debts that friends owe. Business pigs might like to shut up shop unless you’re going to oversee every penny spent, keep all records and perhaps make the most of moonlighting as a tax inspector.

Meeting someone special through work events or friends is quite likely, but be warned - if feelings go south it’ll be you on tenterhooks in the freezer of love, squealing like a stuck pig. For you, the fourth, tenth and eleventh lunar months are well aspected - get the right seat at the banquet of love and chances are you’ll be eating like a pig.

The way ahead is dammed-up. If there was ever a time for you to fly and be the dambuster you are in your heart, this is it. A little help from a fat pig on high would go a long way. Relations with those senior to you should be fine, but be careful not to alienate your colleagues - they have their bacon to take home as well.

Guiding hexagram from the Yi-Jing (Book of Changes)

Preponderance of the small. Success. Perseverance furthers. Small things may be done; great things should not be done. Remain below. Great good fortune.

Thunder on the mountain: the image of preponderance of the small. Thus in his conduct, the superior man gives preponderance to reverence and in his expenditures, thrift.

Nine in the third place means if one is not extremely careful, somebody may come up from behind and strike him. Misfortune.

Preponderance of the small - piglets abound, profits curtailed but still present and the opportunity to cultivate those you see as beneath you. What message does the flying bird bring: keep your snout below the parapet lest your ears be taken for someone else’s purse.
