To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR), CLSA participated in the “Share the Love” program aimed at providing material support to underprivileged people so they might join in the festivities surrounding the 25th Anniversary celebrations.

CLSA worked in collaboration with two charity organizations; Foodlink Foundation, (which focuses on fighting hunger), and Helping Hand, (dedicated to serving the elderly) to pack and distribute “Blessing Bags”. Blessings Bags are bags packed with food, anti-epidemic items, and other daily necessities. 280 Share the Love, Blessing Bags were sent to the single-parents, low-income families, families of new arrivals and seniors in Kowloon East Districts, as a way to include them in the Hong Kong SAR 25th anniversary celebration.

Home visits were also made to elderly single people in Diamond Hill to join with them to share their daily lives, and promote a caring and inclusive community culture. Additional virtual visits were made to seniors from the Helping Hand Jockey Club Housing for the Elderly in Po Lam and Siu Sai Wan, where CLSA volunteers played games, exercised and sang songs to bring a little cheer to the elderly.

Through these small acts of kindness CLSA aims to both express the cheerfulness associated with celebrating this year’s important milestone in Hong Kong’s history, and at the same time show a strong commitment to Hong Kong’s future by helping people build a better life and in our community.

26 CLSA volunteers participated in the “Share the Love” program, a major event commissioned to celebrate the Hong Kong SAR 25th anniversary. CLSA is pleased to be participating in a celebration that contributes to the wellbeing of people from all walks of life. We look forward to continuing our Community Outreach and contributing to the further growth and prosperity of Hong Kong SAR in the years ahead.
