What sort of year awaits? No point in us pulling the woolly monkey over your eyes. If you are a howler monkey, then you know what’s in store. You may find periods when you are a little dis-grunt-led and have to orchestrate your own way out of a dilemma. On the bright side, small transgressions are likely to be for-gibbon, and if you are having trouble getting to your destination, you know you can always call us.

  Health

Early to bed, early to rise, makes a monkey… it may not be a bad idea to live your life more like a nursery rhyme this year, lest you feel that your health is high up on a tr-ape-ze bar with no way to troubleshoot what might be afflicting you. The Gate of Sorrows Star is also visiting, which indicates not your health but those of close family which will affect you somehow. Ensure that you can provide family with some attention as well.

  Wealth

Your wealth is not likely to increase dramatically this year, and if it has to go down, make it through your own expenditure, not on the coat-tails of someone else’s hair-brained scheme. Open the treasure chest and you might still find silver-backs and gold-backed currencies. Stores of nuts and fruit should last you through the year, but only if you plan well.

  Love

Leap and swing your arms with abandon, as there may be no one there to ch-ape-rone you. This may also mean there is no one there to admire you. Overall, not much of an improvement over last year, but happily, relationships you have should not deteriorate. Not many prospects are swinging around, so make the most out of having a solo capuchin-o by the window and enjoy the view.

  Career

A year in which you have the Post-Horse Star visiting means that you will not be home to receive it. Wherever you are going, you will have a tailwind behind you; you could even go as far as Lemur-ai. It will not be all be plain sailing professionally; forces against you will be in cahoots, and you will need to use all your opposable thumbs and toes to stop sliding down that greasy tree. If the year presents little opportunity in the field, make the most of the movement through space-time that is offered.

Guiding hexagram from the Yi-Jing (Book of Changes)

Judgement:
Grace has success. In small matters, it is favourable to undertake something.
Image:
Fire at the foot of the mountain: the image of Grace. Thus does the superior man proceed when clearing up current affairs. But he dare not decide controversial issues in this way.
The Forest of Changes:
What use are proclamations when one’s ambition is thwarted and spirit wearied? Han Xin relied on a Neighbourhood Head of Nanchang for his breakfast, but when the Head’s wife tired of this one day, she cooked and ate early, and there was nothing left for Han. He left, hanging his head in shame.
Verdict:
Fire at the foot of the mountain indicates that even the early monkey will not necessarily get the fruit this year. Han Xin became dependent on someone else and backed himself into a corner. We are all dependent on others for numerous things physical and metaphysical in daily life. Not being too attached might lessen any lingering disappointment or shame.
