Today, CLSA’s 25th Investors’ Forum focuses on politics, foreign policies and technological innovations.

The day opens with former US ambassador Nicholas Burns analyzing major trends challenging global peace and stability.

Over lunch we hear from Tom Wujec, Fellow, Autodesk, an innovative practitioner of business visualization who studies how we share and absorb information. By using design and technology to help groups solve problems and understand ideas, he reveals unexpected truths about how to solve our biggest, most complicated problems at work simply by asking, “How do YOU make toast?”

Laurie Santos, a Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science at Yale University, closes the day with her views on psychological science and its implications on happiness.

  • Shaun Rein, Founder & Managing Director, China Market Research Group (CMR), reveals his insights about how one can profit from China’s outbound economic plans as well as a shifting consumer base that is increasingly nationalistic
  • Souad Mekhennet, National Security Correspondent, The Washington Post, recounts her transformative journeys behind the lines of jihad and gives an inside lookatf some of the world’s most wanted men
  • Daniel Drezner, Professor, International Politics, Tufts University, explores American Foreign Policy and reshapes our understanding of contemporary public intellectual life in America and the West
  • John Delury, Associate Professor of Chinese Studies, Yonsei University, takes a deep dive into North Korea and unlocks the various riddles surrounding the nation
  • Nicholas Benes, Representative Director at The Board Director Training Institute of Japan discusses corporate governance in Japan, and how executives, outside directors and investors alike can learn to implement ‘best practice’ solutions
